Regarding Taiwan

This is a series of mixed media work that investigates the relationships between nationality, identity, and technology. The project addresses the precarious status of Taiwan — its difficulty in gaining international recognition and the identity crisis among Taiwanese citizens due to oppression from the Chinese government and conflict within Taiwan’s politics. At its core, the series examines how identity connects to an unclear nationality and the impact of imperialism and censorship. As a subtext, the series attempts to find proof of how one’s ideology can be formed through the use-or-misuse of technology.
