Collaboration between

Shan Wu & Drew Cavicchi

The on-going collaboration between Shan Wu and Drew Cavicchi started in 2019. The body of work containing photographs, installations, and sculptures that explore progression, aesthetics, illusion, and implied structure. The series collides human-made structure with landscape, exposing the idea of framing, boundaries, perceptions, and the relationship between human and nature.  

They met through mutual interests for photography, art, and social studies when they both lived in Taiwan. They took street photography, developed film, learned the technology and critiqued their images. This integral aspect of photography has continued to influence their art practice to this day. 

The series was partically exhibited at the California Institute of the Arts as “Invisible Landscape” and was furthur developed at The Residency Project while Shan and Drew were their artist in residents.
